DESCRIPTION:
The beautiful set of 2 smooth rimmed decorative dinner plates was decorated by a talented artist using the orange, pink, purple, blue and green color palette on the white porcelain.  The color wash behind the gold filigree is a light yellow.  (Be careful if you are matching your set since we have seen these plates with light green behind the filigree.)  The trim on the rim is a wide band of gold.  These plates are absolutely beautiful, so bright and cheerful!

CONDITION:
While these dinner plates are classified as used, their condition is superb.  There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, crazing or hairlines.  The wide gold band on the rim has some very slight wear on one plate, but this does not detract from the plate's beauty.  See photo #5.  It is simply age appropriate and was probably caused by the plate being displayed in a plate groove in a china cabinet.
DIMENSIONS:
The plates are 10 3/4" with a height of 1".
HISTORY/MARKS:
Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther formed his company in 1814 in Hohenberg an der Eger, Bavaria and his son, Lorenz Hutschenreuther formed his company in 1857 in Selb, Bavaria.  This latter company acquired P.T. Porcelain Factory in 1927 and then in 1969 was merged with the former company and continued operation as Hutschenreuther AG (Selb, Bavaria) until 1994 when the Tirschenreuth factory was closed due to bankruptcy.
This plate has the green underglaze "P.T." mark on it.  The P. T. Bavaria (Porcelain Factory Tirschenreuth founded 1838 in Tirshenreuth, Bavaria) mark #755 (in Robert E. Rontgen’s Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain 1710 to the Present) was used 1903-1927.  Each plate also carries the red overglaze decorator's mark "Decorated in Own Studios."  After Hutschenreuther purchased the pottery in 1927, the mark was modified.
